Though the latest update was released October 13, I have a couple of things to say about it.
Excellent décor. Draenor, Shadowlands, Argus and a few more added. Halloween items are for sale on the new Holiday vendor in Founder’s Point. I’m dying because the tiny shop has on display a few items for Christmas, Valentines and Easter.
In the real world I have no resistance to Holiday decorations for these Holidays. Money pours from my hands. Very bad. I think I was able to resist Halloween shopping in the real world this October because there was so much in game to get. That was even before the Hallow’s End Event began.
I have not fully explored the changes they made to profession recipes to make them more likely to be craftable. Unbelieveably they reduced the number of Black Lotus needed to craft an alchemy table from 8 Black Lotus to 1. I have one single one that some character somewhere had in their inventory. I have never been able to find another Black Lotus since Midnight went live. The table turns out to be rather crude and rustic, but it has a front spot in my Alchemy lab.
In non-décor news, the excitement of the patch was you could dig deeper than Ula’tek on the Coiled to kill a boss named Kith'ix. Spoiler alert, they killed the excellent character Lady Liadrin apparently as a throwaway to the continuing story. Grrr. That really made me mad. By accident though, I followed the storyline to aid a small group including Liadrin, Lothremar, Arator, and Zul'Jarra....I don't know why I bothered to enter the raid instance in Story Mode. I think, the mini-quest line was engaging and there was a conversation between Zul'Jarra and Liadrin that was so lovely. (sniff) and I thought I'd take a peek. The fight went much better than I dreamed and I had a moment where I thought we might beat Kith'ix. Then boom, my character was dead and everyone was dead. Oops.
The Aqir Invasions are new and in the game for a limited time (till the next patch). There is a short intro which I initially missed. Run here, kill bugs. Run there, kill bugs. Hope for armor upgrades and the ability to earn a bit of new décor. I’m sending my erstwhile Paladin to do these for the armor upgrades, but will likely purchase an item of two from the quartermaster. My Paladin is at iLevel 280. In the blue, at least.
